On this blog you will find recipes that follow the Paleo~Zone diet as I see it.  For clarification, I am not a doctor, nutritionist, or anything even close to that.  I am simply a cook, wife and someday, mother, that cares about the quality of the food that I feed my family.  Both in taste and where it comes from.  I am also work a full time job so I think that you will find these recipes are not only easy, but they do not take great skill or time!  You should also know that I am not a “gadgets” type of cook.  I like it simple.  Here is a list of all the items you will need to complete all of these recipes:

Food Processor

Hand Held Blender

Garlic Press

Knives

Spatulas/Mixing Spoons/Tongs

Large Saute Pan

2 Sauce Pans of Different Sizes

Medium Sized Baking Dish

What Paleo means to me:

My focus in these recipes is to use as many “Natural”ingredients as possible.  what do I mean when I say “Natural”?  I mean unprocessed and as close to coming out of the chemical free ground into your home as possible.  I mean eating food that was grown or raised the way nature intended it.  I mean beef that grazes on grass, chicken that has been insect fed, eggs that come from those hens, and fruit and vegetables that are grown in chemical free dirt during the appropriate season.  This is my interpretation of paleo.  I do use salt, pepper, dairy products and various additional items that some would argue are not paleo.  I would agree with them, however, I still feed them to my family and will include those items here.  If you are looking for strict paleo you will still find recipes here that you can modify to fit your own needs.

What zone means to me:

I use the zone guidelines to regulate my portion size.  This has helped me lose 20 pounds in the last year and assists me in preparation for meals and snacks while at work or away from home.  I know what combination of fat, protein & carbohydrates that I need in each serving and can better prepare for the day.  I am not a Zone expert so I will note the websites that I use to guide my determination of points so that you can do your own research as to how you prefer to size portions.  Included in each recipe will be the Zone points for each serving as I have interpreted it.

So, What do I mean by Paleo~Zone?

I mean Natural foods in the right amounts.  It’s as simple as that!  You will find a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner ideas as well as for snacks in between.
